Protect your account with 2FA, Google Sign
At the beginning of the process, you’ll get ten recovery codes. Download, print or copy these and don’t lose them! You’ll need them to regain account access if you ever lose access to your device. When you log in the next time, you’ll need to add your password and then a code generated from your authenticator app on your smartphone. When you set up 2FA, you’ll be given a number of 16-character scratch codes, each consisting of four alphanumeric blocks.
Enabling 2FA does not require an Authy account, but if you have one, you will be able to use either the Authy App or SMS messages. Complete the steps for requesting a new code. If you’re receiving the code by phone, make sure you are near that phone. We can only send text messages to a mobile phone. For a landline phone, select an automated call. When you sign in to Slack, just open your authentication app and enter a code along with your password. After you set up two-factor authentication, you’ll sign in to your account in two steps using your password and Google Authenticator code. Also, when you reset two-factor authentication after it has been disabled, the authenticator might create a second account with the same name. Please see the authenticator documentation to delete the old account. You’ll need to use the latest version of a supported browser like Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, or Safari in order to add or log in to your account with a security key.
What authenticator app can I use?
Two-factor authentication, or 2FA, is an extra layer of security that helps keep your account and funds secure. When 2FA is enabled, you are required to enter a one-time password to log into your account. This extra layer of security prevents anyone except you from accessing your account and funds. If you want to get your passcodes from a 2-factor authentication app, install one on your mobile device before enabling 2-factor authentication in Zendesk Support.
Once inserted, touch the button on your key. If you choose not to enable 2FA when prompted, the permissions for your account are stripped down to the most basic level of access. You are not able to work with YouTrack with the permissions that are available to your account until you set up 2FA. To ensure 2FA authorizes correctly with a time-based one time passwords server, synchronize your GitLab server’s time using a service like NTP. Otherwise, authorization can always fail because of time differences. After you use a recovery code, you cannot re-use it. You can still use the other recovery codes you saved. When prompted for a two-factor code, enter the recovery code. Recovery codes are not generated for U2F or WebAuthn devices. If you set up a device, also set up a TOTP so you can still access your account if you lose the device.
2-factor authentication apps include Google Authenticator, Authy, Symantec VIP, and Duo Mobile. The app displays a valid passcode on the opening screen. You typically get 60 seconds to use it before it expires, then the app displays a new passcode. With 2-factor authentication, an extra layer of security is added to your account to prevent someone from logging in, even if they have your password. This extra security measure requires you to verify your identity using a randomized 6-digit code we’ll send you each time you attempt to log in.
After you enter your username and password, you are prompted for a six-digit time-sensitive verification code. This code is sent to a separate device, such as a mobile phone or security token, that you can read and enter into Cloud Manager and complete your login. If we detect you will need a temporary password to log in, we will send one via SMS text message to your phone. Alternatively, you can generate your own temporary password. With Salesforce TFA being enabled, anyone trying to login to your Salesforce account from an unrecognized computer/device must provide additional authorization. Authentication starts with a user submitting his traditional username and password. Once the user successfully gets authenticated with the 1st step verification, configured 2FA method prompts for 2nd-step verification. After successfully authenticating with both of the steps a user is granted with the access to the Salesforce account. This extra layer prevents the unauthorized person from accessing the resources even if cyber attackers get to know your credentials. Immediately after successfully enabling 2FA with a one-time password, you’re prompted to download a set of generated recovery codes.
Challenge Completed but Device Not Registered Enabling this option allows you to send an email alert when an end-user completes a challenge but do not registers the device. Challenge Failed Enabling this option allows you to send an email alert when an end-user fails to complete the challenge. Enable Adaptive Authentication on Policy page and select the required restriction method as an option. Enable option Send email alerts to Users if number of Device registrations exceeded allowed count if you want to alert the user about no of devices exceeding the limit. To verify your Two-factor authentication configuration, go to your Salesforce Domain. You will be redirected to miniOrange login console. For any reason you may want to change your authentication device. This could be to move your authentications to a replacement computer or mobile device . There is not currently a transfer function, however you may accomplish this by turning off 2FA, and then re-enrolling with your new device. Click “File” to save your 2FA settings onto your computer, or choose one of the other options to sync with Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, or WebDAV.
Any team members actively using Customer.io who have not setup 2FA will be redirected to set it up, as shown below. They will not be able to continue using Customer.io until they do. Once set up, you’ll receive a push notification to your mobile device when you sign in to your GitHub.com account on any browser. You can approve or reject the sign in- attempt. If you approve it, you’ll be logged into GitHub.com immediately. If 2FA is already enabled, but set to SMS, is there a way to switch only selected users to “use mobile app” or is this a global setting. Make sure a 2-factor authentication app is installed on your mobile device. Examples include Google Authenticator, Authy, Symantec VIP, and Duo Mobile. To force all users to use 2FA you must uncheck the “Use system value” of Force providers field and select the Google Authenticator. Enable the 2FA service of the one of the providers you frequently use. Follow the directions on the 2FA reset page. After completing the reset procedure, Cloud Manager allows you to log in to the Cloud Manager account without requiring a 2FA code. Log in to Cloud Manager with your username and password. Is displayed in the UI, any TOTP mobile app or web browser plug-in may be used. Under Two-step verification, click Add next to Security keys. If you do not see this section, follow the Enable two-step verification instructions before proceeding. When entering a backup code, be careful to transcribe the code correctly.
If you have other team members with admin privileges, have one of them remove your account and re-add you on the Team Members page. Click Manage 2FA to start the process, and have your authentication app at the ready. Because logging in with 2FA requires that you have access to a physical device, the risk of a potential intruder gaining access to your account is much lower. We can temporarily disable 2FA on your account after verifying the request with a teammate. The other teammate must be logged in to your Intercom workspace. Once set up, your Intercom account will be authenticated by your G Suite domain. And each of your teammates will sign into Intercom with a single click through their G Suite account. If you choose 2FA, each of your teammates will have to protect their own Intercom accounts separately.
This step ensures that you have a backup method, in case a device doesn’t support your security key. Two-factor authentication is a method of adding additional security to your account. The first “factor” is your usual password that is standard for any account. The second “factor” is a verification code retrieved from an app on a mobile device or computer. 2FA is conceptually similar to a security token device that banks in some countries require for online banking. Other names for 2FA systems include OTP (one-time password) and TOTP (Time-based One-time Password algorithm).
Manage and configure authenticator settings globally. Go to the“Protection” section in Settings and select one of the proposed authentication methods. Authentication via SMS is the most common method to secure your account additionally. Two-factor authentication is a ‘must-have’ security measure for all financial services in the 21st-century. Please do not neglect the security of your funds. In your ACCOUNT Settings, click on the PASSWORD & SECURITY tab to view your security settings. If you don’t have access to an authorized browser or device, ask someone to recover your account.
You can choose to send your verification code by text message or from an authentication app. Although security-key with WebAuthn can be used for authentication from both the web and the command line, it can only be configured from the web. When enabling 2FA from the command line, currently the only available option is to use an TOTP mobile app. If you add a security key for additional two-factor authentication protection, we no longer require using another backup method for more protection. Security keys can be used as your sole authentication method, without any other methods turned on. For example, you use an app on your mobile phone as a second factor and disable the feature while your phone is out for repair. Once you pick up your phone from the shop, you can re-enable the feature without having to pair your account with the app a second time.

You can use one of the scratch codes if you lose access to your 2FA app (e.g. if your phone or computer gets broken or stolen). You only see these codes while setting up 2FA , so copy them from your browser and save them offline in a safe place (e.g. on a memory stick or paper printout). If you don’t keep these codes and encounter a problem with your 2FA device, you will be locked out of your account. One way we’re doing that is by helping more developers adopt two-factor authentication for their accounts. Each code can be used in conjunction with your username and password to not only access Cloud Manager but to reset your security settings on Cloud Manager. Two-step verification is a highly recommended security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your Dropbox account. Enabling two-step verification means that Dropbox will require a six-digit security code when you sign in to your account or link a new computer, phone, or tablet.
2FA increases the security of your account. Even if somebody guesses your password, they won’t be able to access your account. If your team uses Duo, you won’t see the option to turn on two-factor authentication because Duo is already providing multi-factor authentication for everyone on your team.
